Position Summary: The Sims is one of the most successful PC games in the world selling over 90 million units in 22 different languages. Our games include The Sims 2, SimCity, MySims and our games are enjoyed on the PC, Nintendo DS and Wii, Sony PS/2 and others. Many of our games have a strong online community like TheSims2.com and we are creating new and innovative standalone online communities like TheSimsOnStage.com and TheSimsCarnival.com. These online services are developed by the Sims Internet Group.
The Sims Internet Group is looking to hire a Development Manager as its leader in India. This individual will work closely with the development team in the US to support existing online services and to help in creating new services that will grow our online services portfolio.
Job Description: The Development Manager will be responsible for leading the engineering team in India to support web application development for The Sims. The successful candidate will be: -Very organized and can manage multiple projects with detailed schedule and appropriate milestones -Help with hiring, retaining and managing the career growth of the team members. -Support a collaborative environment with open communication among team members in India and the US -To maintain clear and complete communication with the team in the US on all aspects of the team and its responsibilities. -Must be technically astute to provide guidance to make good judgment to manage the schedule and commitments.
Skill Requirements:
•Minimum of an Engineering Degree, preferably in computer science or related experience in software engineering required. •7+ years of high-tech industry experience with track records of hands-on software development on the J2EE,Spring, MySql or Oracle. •Atleast 2+ years of management experience leading a team of 10+ engineers. •Experience working with remote teams in the US •Experience working on consumer websites would be an advantage •Excellent written and oral communication skills. •Excellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes and operations planning. •Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities: • Management of teams focusing on launching new products and services. • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide management escalation, project prioritization, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and drive initial partner deployments. • Drive architectural design and define technical engagement processes. |
